Celebrating diversity with a beautiful Harmony Day

Celebrating Harmony Day 2025 at Kingsley College was truly a special day – filled with colour, delicious food, and encouragement to respect and celebrate diversity.

Harmony Day at Kingsley is a celebration that recognises we are all part of God’s family, and spiritually one, regardless of nationality or language group. It’s about kindness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone.

Alongside bringing in cultural food to share with classmates, students came to school dressed representing a culture or nationality in the world. During Assembly, those in national dress were asked to stand up, tell everyone what country they represented, and why they chose that country. A cultural parade then followed, where every class walked around to show off their outfits!

During Assembly, we also took time to think of nations that are at war, and prayed for world peace, especially mindful of Ukraine.  We concluded with the Prayer of St Francis, asking God to help us be an instrument of his peace in our relationships at school, at home, and in the community.

Not only was this an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of cultures and nationalities at Kingsley, but also to have reflection on how we can live in harmony with each other despite the differences that we might have.

It was a fantastic day and we are already excited for next year.
