Every year, Kingsley College hosts a Market Day where all the funds raised are donated to The Jesus School in Cambodia.
It is always exciting watching students learn during this time! As part of their STEAM program, students from Year 7-10 have the opportunity to apply their project-based learning in a real-world setting. For the weeks leading up to Market Day each student will develop a plan which maps out their journey from design to execution, including: budgeting, marketing, team building, and running the event on the day.
Whilst working, developing skills, and learning, students have a deep understanding of service for others. It is a great opportunity and honour to be able to integrate this program to support The Jesus School. Through this, we have the ability to help provide school supplies to children in Cambodia, who otherwise, wouldn’t have these resources.
Market Day 2024 was no different – raising a fantastic amount to donate. The event was a wonderful display of sweet treats, trinkets and goodies, fun games, and our lovely College community. We are proud to have this initiative and hope to innovate this program every year.
