On Friday 10 May, students celebrated Do it for Dolly Day – a day to remember to let kindness be the norm. Everyone came in blue to support the cause of eliminating bullying and replacing it with kindness. All up, the student-led initiative raised over $600 for the Dolly’s Dream foundation, which goes towards raising awareness and providing support for those affected by bullying in schools.
A big thank you to Bella T, Rebecca M, Trinity S, and Reilly S for organising and running the day. With the help of some others, they sold blue ribbons, cupcakes, and even ran a guess-the-number lolly jar. It was fantastic to see how excited everyone was to participate in the day! Bella intended for the day to be “a good reminder to everyone to be kind”.
At Kingsley, kindness is a part of how we do school. It was great to see so many students get behind the event and remember to treat other people how we would like to be treated ourselves.
“To prevent bullying, because there’s been a bit of bullying going on. It’s a good reminder to everyone to be kind.”
“Everyone was very excited.”
“Try and be more kind.”
“The money goes towards Dolly’s Dream, where they raise awareness and support for people.”
